Sprint/LG Musiq cell phone - How to clear ALL data?

I've got an LG Musiq from Sprint that I intend on recycling in the future, as I am no longer a Sprint member. I need to clear all the data from it, but the phone has a 4-digit lock code set on it that I don't remember ever setting, so as a result I cannot get into the Security menu to do a full format of the phone's memory.
