What is a clear ESN on a cell phone?, and how do I clear mine?

Your ESN can't be cleared.





If you remove your battery and look there, your ESN is listed. It's your phone's unique serial number there and can't be cleared.





Only way to get a new ESN is to get a new phone.





ESN = Electronic Serial Number

a clear ESN is where that phone is not on an active line of service. it is not on an account that owes money on the bill. so if u dont owe a bill on the phone or if its not on an active line then its clear but to make sure u can call ur provider to make sure if its clear or not.
