I am looking for a phone on ebay and it says it has a clear esn. What does this mean?

A Clear ESN is a CDMA Term (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel)

A Clear ESN means that it can be activated with no problem and it isn't stolen, linked to a bad account, or reported lost then found

When phones are lost or stolen they are reported to the provider and that ESN is then blacklisted, which means it can never be used again

I wouldn't buy a phone without first making sure or going with the seller's guarantee that the ESN is clear and good to be activated

If a phone has a bad ESN, its done
