My cell phone says I have a text message, but I checked and I dont. How can I clear it?

this used to happen to a phone of mine. Have someone send you a new text %26amp; then read it %26amp; delete it. That worked for me. Otherwise take the battery out for 2 minutes. If none of those work, call customer service!!!
